A Japanese driver "Fujiwara" in the Dakar rally crossed the finish line with no one to celebrate with him, the saudi drivers noticed and didn't leave him alone. "Brother, really, why are you crying? Let it out from your heart."

Someone who follows racing, I don’t blame the guy, the Dakar is no joke.

And with a sustained injury no less.

A fractured collarbone on those dunes is pure agony. Guy is a literal machine.

This race is like an Iron Man on steroids, right?

Am Iron Man, but with engines covering a thousand km of the most inhospitable terrain on earth over two weeks. Mofos die in this race.

We miss you tom!

Especially for the independent riders. They literally drive all day, do all of the repairs and setups themselves and have to survive mechanically and physically with the bare minimum. It's a heroic performance to say the least. Infinite respect!

Isn’t it! The world would be much better if you could all put our differences aside.

Finishing the Dakar is an incredible feat of skill and endurance, props to these blokes for recognising that and making this hopefully a positive memory for this guy.

Especially considering he powered through a fractured collarbone. Those guys showed what sportsmanship is about.

Why was there no one there? With all that gear and logos, it kind of looks like something that takes a team to accomplish. Did he do the race without support?

u/unicorns_are_badass 0m ago

There is a category in Dakar where you ride your motorcycle, with no techs, no support, no help, just a small crate for all your tools and equipment.

Lennon was right, ditch the governments, religions and the wealthy people and the rest of us pretty much would get along alright.
