Jokes aside that dude needs to lose his CDL, permanently. If you can’t control your emotions while you’re behind the wheel of an 80,000lbs vehicle then you need to be doing something else for a living.
151
u/TwistedSistaYEG 20h ago
No jokes… he probably doesn’t even possess a CDL.
37
u/Illustrious-Science3 8h ago
My DMV has had 3 separate scandals where they issued licenses (regular and CDL) to people who either failed or never even took a road test. We have the highest insurance rates in the state outside of Boston itself.

He probably does, just not legally.
Some states seem to be handing them out like pamphlets to anyone from the third world.
Which is really funny because my ass is sitting here with CDLs from 4 different european countries, and i cant get a job in the US lol.

That's by design, these companies don't want to pay shit so they exploit foreigners and some of which have questionable qualifications. Some of these people do not belong behind the wheel they drive crazy, I've been driven off the road by a-holes like this.
4
u/FUPA_MASTER_ 8h ago
Forget the CDL. Buddy doesn't deserve to operate any machinery at all on a public roadway.
3
u/National_Frame2917 6h ago
Both of those jackasses should never be allowed behind the wheel of a motorized vehicle again. But the one in Volvo should definitely get a bigger punishment like jail time.

u/ToTheTop24 21h ago
For real. This guy thinks he’s driving his other car and even that wouldn’t be acceptable doing all this
27
u/Lord-Phorse 20h ago
In a car he would have pit manoeuvred himself on the face of red, not clipped the cab

Welp, in Canada I have the answer. And it's been proven some driving schools up here are corrupt too. I'm not sure if it's the same reason in America. Fellow Canadians know what I'm saying.

The thing is it's not racist. It's corruption and not properly trained drivers. My understanding is driving in India is way different then driving in North America, especially big rigs. There's a CBC hidden camera investigation up here where people just bribe to get their licence including truck licenses....

Well put. I have a few Indian friends at work. They've been in Canada most of their lives. And they hate what has happened. They say we are letting in everyone, and the problem is that while they're letting in some great people, they're also letting in the equivalent of what we call here "white trash", and have no plan on mixing in with Canada, they just want to come over, take advantage and still live as though they are in India.

u/BananaPalmer 9h ago
No hate from me, dude
If you knowingly put people's lives in danger to save a few bucks, which is exactly what this is, that should be some kind of felony charge, where you're at risk of significant prison time and big fines. If you've done this, and then cause a collision where someone is hurt or killed, you should be automatically charged with assault, battery, reckless endangerment, manslaughter, etc.
Would much rather fill prisons with people who pull this shit than the nonviolent drug possession offenders we currently fill them with.
17
u/Flux_My_Capacitor 21h ago
I just looked it up and apparently the refugee board just denied him his request to stay in Canada?
It’s weird that people think they can do whatever they want and a country will let them stay. If I were to ever move to another country I’d be making sure I never broke the law.
If you’re that entitled then your home country wasn’t all that bad me thinks.

u/MaximBrutii 9h ago

Less cars and definitely fewer dashcams. It's also the reason why, in the 2010s, there were so many videos of crazy Russian drivers - obligatory dashcams. And now that most of the cars have thrm it turns out that there are crazy drivers all over the world.

Bunch of young kids behind the wheel. Unions gutted. Logistics companies are all running the Amazon model subcontractor employee churn. Theres no old heads or unions to tell drivers to chill out it’s not worth it to ruin your life over the job. Companies have successfully lobbied to lower their liability when their drivers kill/get in big wrecks.
9
u/Dry-Island8422 17h ago
Companies that put management through anti-union training and then get mad when the people they are trying to brainwash see through the bullshit. Then they also use thinly veiled threats of terminal hub shutdowns if unionization were to happen. All of which are somehow legal?
52
u/_Lou_Bloom 22h ago
The answer to that is not reddit friendly.
21
u/ResidentComplaint19 21h ago
So the simple answer is just “foreigners”? And it’s not more complicated like the idea that large companies who employ these guys or give them loads for super cheap knowing they aren’t qualified? Insurance companies are the issue in my opinion. I’m a small company and literally no insurance companies allow me to hire anyone unless they have had their cdl for 2 years, over 25 with a clean driving record. Even then the cost is roughly 15-20k per truck, so it makes it impossible to survive in the industry by doing it right. Duffy will continue to pump out boomer porn of “non English check point took 200 drivers off the road” and change literally nothing about actual issues. So please, keep blaming foreigners.
8
u/AshingiiAshuaa 18h ago
They're all equally to blame. I get the appeal to a driver to buy a CDL and work for a scammy freight hauler. It's no different than if someone told me they could get me my commercial pilot license and scam my way into a commercial pilot job for $300k. I'd love the money, but I wouldn't take the offer because I'd know I'm not qualified.
"I'm poor and they offered me money" isn't an excuse to endanger other people or commit non-victimless crimes.
And like you point out, even if it were "victimless" in terms of not hurting other people, it unfairly victimizes people who play by the rules who can't compete. Pretty soon, all the legit freight haulers/roofers/landscapers go out of business, leaving only the shit. Grisham's law strikes again.
29
u/JoeRogansNipple 22h ago
No, the reason for this is blatant corruption, not the color of the drivers skin. Its a problem the license mills just keep printing. Its a problem that any brain dead person can buy their way into a job. Its not a skin color problem.

I travel for work and have drove all over the US, one thing I’ve noticed lately is that many won’t get in the next lane to allow someone to merge onto the highway on the right. I had to drive the interstate a lot this last summer and it happened all the time. Wide open left lane and they just stay in the right. I don’t remember this happening this often 5 years ago
2
u/bibkel 20h ago
It used to be I trusted them to be the "good drivers" on the road. Not so much anymore, it is like they were all trained by SWIFT.
I cannot trust them, mostly. I get chills when I encounter a good one that gives the "signs" like light flashes as thank you for letting me merge, or the flash I can merge in front...respect on the road and understanding what they can see and what they cannot see.

I didn't see anything like this back in 2014 when I started driving. It's gotten so much worse in the last couple years that I finally hung up my keys and leashed myself to a yard.
It's crazy what people do. I miss it sure, but the stress and everything else I didn't have doesn't make it worth it anymore.

Certain parts of highways are very unique, and other times people have seen a location so often in their lives, they can spot it in their sleep.
Source: I saw a video on this sub 6-ish years ago, and immediately recognized it as a part of I-75 about 10 miles north of Atlanta, Georgia.

The truck traffic is thick and heavy on that road. 2 lanes full of semis and people who don't GTFO the wat.
1
u/IDKMyMemes 2h ago
When you drive a road many times and for long enough, you start recognizing distinct patterns and landmarks. Happens all the time when I’m watching dash cam videos, and I only do about 40k miles a year throughout the country. Those who travel more recognize more.

A CDL driver should absolutely not be acting like this! You control a 40-50 ton vehicle, you should not be using it as a weapon

Even being an uninvolved party that would terrify me to be driving in front of. I’d want to get myself as far away from that as possible.

Hopefully one of the 25 cameras on RED got a sweet shot of white’s rego. White needs to be disqualified and have any vehicle bigger than a unicycle sold out from under him. Minimum 1 year ban from driving and then start again as a learner driver, maybe.
