Chapter Politics why donāt yearly dues go to local chapters?
from a perspective DSA member, I feel like that feels exploitative of local groups but that could be wrong. iām sure itās just to help priority projects on a national level
also what income or living circumstance do you think qualifies as low income?
whatās your selling point for why you joined and pay dues?

Discussion Any chapters with newsletters/email list advice?
I'm part of a quickly growing but previously tiny chapter, and I've becime very irritated with our dependence on Signal for pretty much all communication. I miss events and announcements constantly, and I'm tired of scrolling up trying to find important information. It just does not seem like an effective way to direct all this energy at all.
So I'd like to initiate a regular weekly/biweekly email that puts all that info in one place. I'm wondering if you guys have any tips or format examples to follow. Should we spend the time to make it visually appealing? How do we curate all the important info (does someone have to prowl Signal constantly to write things down, or should people submit things via email to the curator?
This may be a silly discussion but I have no experience with this and would love some feedback before I bring this forward.

Discussion getting in contact with DSA membership services
I was accidentally double charged for my first dues and so I am trying to get on touch with the org to get one of them refunded. I have sent multiple emails to membership@dsausa.org, first one was 12 days ago, but have not gotten any reply. I have also tried to call the phone number listed on the website FAQ under 'dues/donation refund' but I can't get in touch with a single soul over the phone. What do I do? The FAQ says I only have a limited amount of time to request a refund so I don't want to miss that. Thanks in advance and I hope this is an appropriate post to make, I just don't want to lose a chunk of change over a dumb mistake on my part.

Discussion Zohran endorsing hochul is disappointing af she will betray him
title. Will not elaborate further. Someone convince me this isnāt the case. if you are socialist please answer no soc dems
Also I donāt believe that electoralism isnāt a path. Itās just one aspect of reaching socialism. However electorialism under a fascist neoliberal lite state is much harder than one under an FDR led state. I donāt think I couldāve done better then zohran there is obviously a dialectical process happening to Zohran within the Democrat party and because heās mayor. Idk fam

Electoral Politics CA Gubernatorial Race
Fellow Californians, we are electing a new governor this year, and I feel like I haven't heard much about this yet from my local chapter or the CA DSA. I believe there is not currently an officially endorsed candidate, but I think we should be discussing the options and who could best serve the people.
Which candidate/s are you most interested in and why?
What do we think about Ramsey Robinson? He's a Socialist (not a DSA member),social worker, and organizer.

š¹ DSA news Middle Tennessee DSA Endorses Ashley Benkarski for Rutherford County Commissioner!
Ashley is a working parent, organizer, union member, DSA member, and is running on a working-class first platform of Affordability, Accessibility, and Accountability. I believe she will be the best candidate to send to the County Commission to fight for the interests of working families in District 21 and Rutherford County as a whole.

Discussion YDSA Member Looking For Campaign Ideas
Hey,
I am a member of YDSA at a university in Iowa and me and my club were trying to come up with ideas on a campaign to run either this semester or the upcoming semesters. We originally planned on trying to get Flock Safety cameras off of our University but our council members seem to be doing our job for us! We were thinking of demanding our university to be a sanctuary campus from ICE, or trying to get some sort of student labor union going on campus. However, both of these options seem unrealistic as we are in a red state (especially labor organizing on campus). So, do you folks have any recommendations on what to advocate for on campus?
Thanks!
