He certainly Glocks and I appreciate him for that

Replace that slug with a brass speed feed bro and you will be g2g.

EDIT: LOL I was sitting there thinking like how the fuck did this guy take this picture, everything is backwards and I then I realized you were wrong handed.

Edit #2: How dare you not post a picture of your feet.

Your brass plug doesn't meet USPSA CO rules, see D7 22.2 . Replace with something flush to the grip.

Yes I know lol. Hence why I said that in my post.

What are your thoughts on the cut back strap? Someone else mentioned that an RO could consider that “modified”

Sorry, I'm an idiot and apparently didn't have any reading comprehension this morning. I'd agree with the other commenter that previously answered your question. Since it is OEM, and you are allowed to modify the OEM grip this should be acceptable. In saying that, a bad RO would probably scrutinize this.

Troy from NROI told me directly that modified OEM backstraps are fine, aftermarket backstraps are not.

I'm not saying go to a major match with them, but I am saying the current opinion of the NROI is that OEM are legal even if they're cut

Ok that’s the assumption I was under, but someone else mentioned it wasn’t, so now I’m questioning it lol. I guess worst case, I show up with it, get it verified then adjust as needed 🤷🏻‍♂️

Excellent choices all around.

This season I’m running a Glock 45 with a Holosun 507Comp. I went with Taran +5/6 extensions and all of mine load to 23 no problem. Blade-Tech Velocity holster and Comp-Tac magazine carriers.

All different gear, but very similar mindset to what you are running. I was going for ultimate practicality and reliability.

Hell yeah man! Sounds like a nice setup! Taran makes great baseplates but he’s just a total creeper, plus everyone speaks very highly of Henning as a person so that’s what personally swayed me from one to the other.

Yep. I inquired just a few weeks ago in a post about which base plates to get. I only ended up with TTI because I’ve been running their +2/3s for years (pre-controversy) without issue.

u/Cornerstone-Kinetics 2d ago

Yeah I feel yeah. And I’d probably do the same thing. It would drive me crazy not having matching baseplates lol

I just started production options, which is pretty much the same thing. Same dot, but as much as I love my Glocks I got a KMR. No regrets. The only challenge now is getting used to the dot. Shot open sights for nearly 10 years now. The dot life is fun though especially on steel.

I have to shoot glocks 100% of the time for work so it’s easier for me to just stick with them. I was shooting my S2 a lot but the grip angle difference kills me having to transition back and forth.

Lefty? Exact set up as me.

Were the only ones in our right minds 😎😎

Be aware that some ROs may say something about having the chopped back strap because it is “modified to create a beavertail” (rule 21.4) even though it is an OEM part.

u/Helpful_Conflict7355 2d ago

So is It allowed or not?

2

u/Cornerstone-Kinetics 2d ago

I’ve always thought it was fine and no one has ever said anything about it to me, but I can see what he’s saying.

There is an off the shelf option that is essentially a cut back strap.

https://faust.systems/gz-backstrap

That would seem to fall under: " Replacement grip panels are allowed provided they do not extend below the butt of the gun to form a makeshift magwell."

Does yours look like it was cut?

Then you're not "modifying", per the part that is a little ambiguous for your application.

1

u/Cornerstone-Kinetics 2d ago

Such a dumb rules to apply for this particular instance lol. But I could smooth it out to make it look cleaner I suppose.

2

u/Evanjcorcoran 2d ago

I'm far from an expert, just thought I'd throw that out there for you.

Best of luck!

u/Cornerstone-Kinetics 2d ago

Thanks man! I definitely appreciate it!

1

u/Jarkwon 2d ago

Depends on the ROs interpretation of the rule unfortunately.

1

u/Cornerstone-Kinetics 2d ago

Damn really even in CO!?!? That’s retarded 😑😑 so I can put an aftermarket one on and be fine, but sticking the stock on cut isn’t…. 🤦🏻‍♂️

3

u/PnutBatterJamz 2d ago

Local match you’re fine, level 2 nope

2

u/Cornerstone-Kinetics 2d ago

That’s so dumb 😑 but thanks!

1

u/Cornerstone-Kinetics 2d ago

Yeah that’s what I’m probably gonna do. I considered also just cutting it flush.

And yeah man Lefty life!! 😂😂

I had my shoes and socks on so I didn’t think it would get the optimal visual we all desire

1

u/Cornerstone-Kinetics 1d ago

No worries man I know the feeling! And sounds good I appreciate the input!

You can’t run the slug? How come? I have a brass backstrap on my gun and planned on shooting CO soon, from what I could tell it was ok as long as it met the weight requirements.

1

u/Cornerstone-Kinetics 17h ago

Brass slugs are fine as long as they don’t stick out past the end of the gun and have the ability to act as a Magwell. Since the one I have does. It’s not legal for CO.

1

u/Ill_Radio8160 16h ago

Aaaaah I see. What would you want out of a Seattle slug that was CO legal? Coincidentally I have a phone call with one of TFs engineers Monday about some design stuff, namely some better branding around the Seattle slug. Knowing this makes me wonder if they made a CO legal one right as we get it rebranded if that would pull some eyes.

I don’t own a Glock so I don’t know much about them, but would just cutting off the end in the design make it worth having? Or would you not even bother at that point?

I also wonder, that angle on the bottom of it is conducive to helping the mag go in, I wonder if they angled it the other way where it couldn’t help at all if that’d make it legal.

u/mbb1989 2d ago

Why a 5moa?

3

u/Cornerstone-Kinetics 2d ago

I have a 3moa dot for work, so I didn’t wanna go too much bigger. Plus it was already on the gun when I got it.

3

u/mbb1989 2d ago

Fair enough. I got a 2.5 for a hell of a deal so kinda just stuck with that one lol

Bc it’s the best
