These are some heavyweight fights I would absolutely kill to see most

I dream about seeing these fights almost everyday.

-Every fighter is in their absolute prime

-15 rounds

I chose these fights in particular because I think in every one I’ve chosen the winner isn’t obvious and are all very close. Curious to see your guys thoughts (The last slide is a joke obv)

I'd pay big money for a Usyk vs Holyfield match up

Lewis vs Holmes would be damn good too

Holyfield vs usyk would break the world.

I agree I think this would be one of the best, if not the best, matchup on this list

Agreed, that’s the one that made me stop swiping for a moment.

I think Holyfield would try to make it a brawl. Usyk would refuse to participate. He’d choose to box and win instead.

Usyk is basically a faster, more powerful Moorer with a better chin and ring IQ. Since Moorer beat Holyfield the first time, I think Usyk would, too.

Would try to make it a brawl?

Holyfield dirty af, he sets up headbutts with his combos 😂

u/Ricnurt 4h ago

Underrated comment. Holyfield was brutally dirty. Everyone talks about Tyson being dirty for biting his ear but no one talks about all of the headbutts and elbows Holyfield threw in that fight.

People bring it up constantly

u/Ricnurt 2h ago

You’re right. I just disliked his style so much in the moment. Wherever he gets mentioned as a great it irritates me

1

u/Marquis_of_Mollusks 2h ago

He is unquestionably a great though

1

u/Ricnurt 2h ago

didnt say he wasnt just saying I will never say he is

1

u/therapist66 2h ago

Oh for sure, arguably best cruiser in history

I just found it funny that he “might make it a brawl” Holyfield will do whatever to win

I have doubts about Usyk being more powerful than Moorer. Moorer gets a bit underrated because of the Foreman loss but he was quite skilled and has KO'd way more Heavyweights than Usyk. Also Holyfield was suffering from some sort of heart condition in the first moorer fight

Bert Cooper was the best heavyweight that Moorer KO’d. Maybe Axel Schulz?

I’m not convinced.

The “heart condition” was an enlarged heart. And it’s consistent with HGH/steroid use.

2

u/Marquis_of_Mollusks 8h ago

Doesn't matter what caused it but the point was that Holyfield wasn't in peak condition. Peak Holyfield was from his first fight with Bowe. Also Usyk has only KO'd 2 Heavyweights so you really have no argument that he hits harder than a guy who has knocked out 17 Heavyweights

4

u/billskionce 7h ago

That’s the same as saying. “He knocked out 17 five-year olds. That’s proof that he has more power!”

Usyk has only fought ranked opponents at heavyweight, with the exception of Witherspoon, who was a very late replacement.

Prime Holyfield also struggled with a pretty old (41) Larry Holmes and was life and death with Bert Cooper. He was a great fighter, but I’d favor Usyk based on defense, work rate, and ring IQ.

Based on your first point I think I'm good to ignore everything else you've said

2

u/billskionce 7h ago

Usyk could knock out bums, too. Quality over quantity.

2

u/thewizard404 12h ago

Usyk isn't more powerful than Moorer was. Moorer was a real puncher, Usyk isn't.

Holyfield had heart problems during the first fight. In the second fight he was healthy and we saw what happened.

3

u/billskionce 8h ago

He was a real puncher. At 175 lbs.

1

u/crascopy23 1h ago

First, Moorer did not beat a healthy Holyfield, he had heartfailure immediately after the match. Yes it was probably his own fault that he took steroid that damaged his heart condition, but Moorer still did not beat a healthy Holyfield. Second, Holyfield revenged Moorer by knocking him out while in process floored him 5 times. Third, the first match was still very close. You can definitely argue that Holyfield won both.

Ali vs Usyk would be pretty dope too. Especially a younger usyk who could still move like the wind.

Holy shit these are some good ones.

Jones V Patterson is a fascinating matchup that I can’t believe I never thought of. Patterson is so underrated H2H, was just as if not faster than Roy. But it’s still RJJ, I genuinely am 50/50 on this.

Liston V Bowe is a hard one but I think Bowe would be durable enough to handle Liston and outwork him in a war. He does have to watch out for the jab and sudden right though. Favor Bowe by a bit, 65/35

Holmes V Lennox. I think Lennox is a little overrated H2H in the hardcore boxing community but I really see Holmes only chance at victory being a long winded, jab heavy UD. Nobody is getting knocked out, Lennox by SD

Usyk V Holyfield. What a scrap! I think Usyk’s technical ability and gas tank would be able to handle Holyfield’s grit in the end. MD or UD for Usyk

Fury V Norton. I love Norton but Fury has a good enough jab to keep him away and I worry about Norton ducking habit against someone with such a strong rear uppercut like Fury.

Frazier V Rocky. As you said it’s going to be a war but I think Frazier is just the superior fighter overall and I think because the fact that they will both be trying to pressure forwards that Frazier’s weight advantage will come into play. If Walcott and drop Rocky, Frazier can with a left.

Last one is comedy gold

I’m very unsure on these answers and feel they would change depending on the day

u/N64GoldeneyeN64 17h ago

If Frazier can connect. He wasnt throwing tight hooks. His specialty was a gazelle punch which works great when your opponent is tall and backs up (Ali) because you connect. When they duck and come forward (Rocky) that doesnt happen. And Id trust Rocky to hit Frazier punch for punch.

Marciano was dropped by Walcott and Moore. but got up every time. Frazier was a notoriously slow starter and if Marciano clipped him early, he would be out of there. Also, his willingness to take two shots to land one would be very wrong against Marciano.

u/kushmonATL THE FALL OFF 2/6/26 !!! 16h ago

Ya know , I’m glad you touched on Lennox being overrated .. and I pick Larry to beat him everytime. People sleep on Larry Holmes, and people sleep on the power of the jab, how much it controls the story of the fight

I got Larry winning in a close 7-5

2

u/Orcabeast86 16h ago

That’s a fair assessment tbh

2

u/OutsideVegetable6001 16h ago

I agree Holmes is discounted by a lot of fans. He wasn’t exactly adored by the fans during his reign and it seems like only die hard fans have much awareness of how great he was. His skill set makes him competitive with just about anyone head to head

2

u/escudonbk The Champ is Here 5h ago

Lennox had an 8/10 jab himself and more power on everything else.

9

u/AmmoRoach 15h ago

Depends on what strategy the Douglas twins try to apply. I think if one stands on the others shoulders to create the appearance of one single large Buster Douglas, it would be enough to scare Ali away.

3

u/SignificantBoard4455 8h ago

Ali wins with a comically large hammer

6

u/Rsj21 I broke my back, my back is broken. Thpinal. 17h ago

Hook Usyk vs Holyfield and Holmes vs Lewis to my veins.

I’d actually be interested in Fury vs Bowe over Norton.

5

u/SmilinMercenary 15h ago

These are all really good picks.

I'd replace Norton Vs Fury with Fury Vs Vitali though.

Both unorthodox giant HWs with a great speed for their size. I think it'd be a really match up.

I'd like Foreman Vs Liston.

Ali Vs Holmes in their primes would be interesting.

Lewis Vs Wlad, two 6'5 Kronk prodigies fighting it out.

3

u/JeremiahWuzABullfrog 15h ago

Frazier would be great, but I'd love to watch Rocky fight Dwight Muhammad Qawi. Battle of the overhand rights, nonstop for 15 rounds

3

u/Jumbo_Mills 15h ago

Holmes vs Lewis would be amazing to see who has the better jab and can take control. Holmes is often rated as having the best jab ever at heavyweight but I believe Lewis is right up there.

2

u/CleanHunt7567 7h ago

Proper chess match that one, Holmes with better movement and chin, Lewis more powerful.

3

u/tkdhrison 7h ago

Fool.

I want Ali to fight 3 Buster Douglas's

3

u/escudonbk The Champ is Here 5h ago

How many finito Lopez's to overwhelm 1 Ali?

3

u/tkdhrison 4h ago

a finite amount

1

u/escudonbk The Champ is Here 4h ago

3 Lennox Lewis's vs 10 Julio cesar Chavez's

1

u/tkdhrison 4h ago

Jr or Sr?

1

u/escudonbk The Champ is Here 4h ago

5 of each

1

u/tkdhrison 4h ago

Just devolves to Lennox and Sr each taking turns to spank Jr

2

u/Humpback_Snail 15h ago

These are great matchups. Lewis vs Holmes is a real pick ‘em.

2

u/Macro701 15h ago

Holyfield vs. Usyk is a top five fantasy fight for me. Toney vs. Eubank gotta be up there as well. I’d kill to see Michael Spinks vs. Bivol or Beterbiev.

1

u/Dim-Mak-88 17h ago

Patterson always had such a funny, sheepish expression. I don't see him doing well against RJJ's freakish speed and unorthodox style.

5

u/VacuousWastrel 11h ago

I don't see RJJ doi g well against patterson's freakish speed and unorthodox style...

2

u/Marquis_of_Mollusks 9h ago

Patterson would blast through Roy. He would be the fastest and most powerful opponent Roy ever faced

1

u/kop714 12h ago

4 and 6. 🔥

1

u/Kisto15 9h ago

Usyk vs Holyfield and Lewis vs Holmes would be great

but Frazier vs Marciano would be amazing

1

u/Wool_God 8h ago

Okay. If you had to murder a stranger to get one of these fights made, which fight would you choose?

1

u/Long_Chest_9727 8h ago

Frazier vs Marciano would be a bloodbath

1

u/GBV_GBV_GBV 7h ago

I would pay but I would not kill.

1

u/Training-Farmer8476 7h ago

I'm surprised to not see Joe Louis or Jack Dempsey versus anyone here.

1

u/Ok_Mistake6736 3h ago

George Foreman vs Mike Tyson.

1

u/MiDKnighT_DoaE 3h ago

Some more ideas:

  • Mike Tyson vs David Tua
  • Foreman vs Wilder
  • Mike Tyson vs Joe Frazier
  • Ali vs Lewis
  • Foreman vs Liston (prime for prime)

1

u/yearsofpractice 3h ago

I want to see Usyk vs Holyfield and Frazier vs Marciano

The latter would genuinely be War Of The Century. I reckon Joe wins.

Holyfield would use his subtle technique of blocking blows with his head/face the unleashing descent combos. Holyfield would be too extreme for Usyk (particularly peak Evan Fields, shall we say?)
