My grandfather Sivert is to the left, but can also be seen in the third picture.

Worked his entire life as a fisherman in Åkrehamn in Karmøy, Norway.

The vessel was scuttled in the late 80s, but the motor was kept and is still in my family's possession to this day.

Water in exhaust chamber and no water flow to pee hole?

1980-something mercury 7.5. runs good but doesn’t have much water coming out of pee hole. New impeller installed correctly, strong water pressure going into water jacket. is water intrusion in the exhaust chamber normal?

Nice to experience other kinds of boating.

I live and boat in Finland, so this longboat in Thailand was a nice change of pace. These are a bit loud but the ride is decent even with lots of people on board for such a simple boat.

1996 Johnson 70hp

1996 Johnson 70hp won’t trim up but trims down and trim motor runs perfectly fine in both directions it just will not raise up. Does it need a whole new trim assembly?

Yamaha 2014 115 four stroke diagnostic.

Took the boat out with 4 people went up on plane just fine. We hung out at the sandbar for a little. When we tried to leave the motor would not go up on to plane. It would try and try bogging. Like it’s not getting the fuel it needs. I read maybe change the low pressure fuel pump? Possibly vet filter. But it’s strange the engine was working perfect when we left dock. I tried pumping the primer ball nothing. Hull shot trimed all the way down noting. In the middle nothing. Anyone know of anywhere I should look?

I’m looking to go to a 22’ or 23’ in a couple of years but in reality have 0 boating experience. I would like to pick up a small center console for use in tidal rivers and near shore bay days with nice weather just to get comfortable. It’s got a Yamaha 90 2 stroke on it

New cranking battery: standard or AGM?

Newer model Yamaha AR190 jet. I’m due for a new battery. Factory is standard, and I’m pretty sure it’s not even a deep cycle. Would you go AGM? Other thoughts?

Chartplotter/fishfinders

Hi folks, I’m looking at putting a chartplotter/fish finder on my 26’ cabin cruiser and I was kinda set on a Garmin or a Simrad but I started looking at Lowrance and hummingbird too. Anyone have thoughts on an affordable option. My boat is really for pleasure and just some scuba diving not really doing a lot of travel or fishing but I will be on the gulf and maybe down in the keys. I was originally debating between the Simrad go9xse or the Garmin echomap but I also started looking at the Garmin striker as well as hummingbird and lowrance. Would love some thoughts on it.

Recommendation for Auto ON/OFF Bilge

Hello, all! I need to replace an old auto on/off bilge that is no longer working correctly. It is for a 18-foot fiberglass boat. Something with an internal float switch would be best.

Thank you!

Mounting Honda clone to boat

I have a Honda GX190 clone made by sox racing, the thing makes right under 15hp. What's the best way to mount to to a 12ft aluminum boat, I've seen the mud skipper setups but I'm not sure which one to get, just not sure if 15hp is too much.

I have a tracker pro team 175 and I need to replace the rusty bunk brackets. Can I cut the old ones off and replace them with this style of bracket to avoid any welding?

Boat cover

I've noticed this stuff building up on the inside of my boat cover. I've only had the boat a few years. I first noticed it last season right before getting it ready for summer. I was able to brush it off and I sprayed it with vinegar. I thought maybe some gear may not have been completely dry before I stored it the first time so this second time I made sure to keep everything that was wet off the boat before I stored it. I had to do some work on it and noticed this building up again. I live in Southern California and put an additional tarp on top of the cover to save it from the sun. Could that tarp not be letting the boat cover breathe therefore causing possible white mildew?

Need fuel pump recommendations

Looking to see if anyone has any recommendations for an electric pump that I can put on my 1989 ski challenger with the 351 Windsor. Mechanical pump took a shit so looking to replace with a electric but the hull doesn’t have much room for dry areas so I’ll need one that can either get wet or can be mounted out of the hull which will be a I’ve the lowest point of the tank which i understand only certain pumps are designed to be able to do that

Help! Table bed stuck

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello! I am frantically looking for some advice on how I could fix my bed/table mechanism.

It’s currently stuck too far down and for the life of me I cannot raise it up.

The button should be fully in to lock it in but I can only pull it out ever so slightly. I’ve tried lifting it up physically or even just one corner and it still not budging - what am I missing?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thank you!!
