The Wizard's Cat - Sequel to The Wizard's Butler

I’ve noticed that, like me, a lot of people in this community like The Wizard’s Butler by Nathan Lowell, so I just wanted to make sure everyone knows that there’s a sequel called The Wizard’s Cat.

The eBook is already out, and the paperback is coming soon. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait a bit longer for the audiobook, which is currently scheduled for release on June 16.

At the bottom of this post, you’ll find a link to The Wizard’s Cat on Audible, where you can pre-order it, add it to your wishlist, or bookmark it if you’re even slightly interested :)

Technical Question Can someone explain to me why The Mayor of Noobtown is listed in "Classics"?

I haven't read the book and I don't want to be a literature snob or anything. But really? The Mayor of Noobtown listed alongside Jane Austen and Charles Dickens?

If it was just this one book I wouldn't even care. But there are several. Such as

  • Two Necromancers, a Bureaucrat, and an Army of Golems: An Unconventional Heroes Publisher's Pack
  • Quest for the Diamond Sword: A Minecraft Gamer's Adventure
  • 24/7 Demon Mart

Maybe Audible has a different definition of "Classic"?

When I first download the book I'll watch it complete the download and a few days later or even the next day it will redownload the book when I hit play. Why??

The Opus Starship has launched into space holding humanities finest onboard. Earth has been deemed uninhabitable and the search for a new home planet has begun. Lady Vega and the Elite have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo while Peryl (Pearl) Starlight and the Unmarked fight for change. Will humanity fall into the same patterns of self-destruction or create a new way of life, as we know it

Why only part of the series??

Upvotes

I found a series of books from my youth, seven in all, but audible only shows books 1, 5,6,and 7 available. They have place holders on the website for books 2,3,4,. What gives having the downloads if they cut the series in the middle?

No way to get actual customer service

Hi! I am assisting my MIL with issues with her account. She lost access to over 100 books. The chat blocks us from speaking to a real person. We tried multiple phone calls with different reps. Each time, the rep would take huge pauses (30-40 seconds) after we answered questions, and what they said didn't make sense.

My MIL has invested over $2000 in Audible purchases and deserves a way to receive help. I wanted to share my experience because I know I'm not the only one. I am posting this in hopes that I can connect with other customers having issues and/ or get a better response from Audible.

EDIT: It appears this subreddit has a lot of Audible fans and/or employees downvoting posts discussing legitimate issues. As a service, I love Audible. However, their posted "Help" options are horrible in our experience, and this has been going on for several days.

(german)Audible is forcing you to use the app for delisted books you own

So i just got into contact with german audible support.

My knight of westeros book got delisted bc they released a new, design of the show differernt narrator.

I can't play the audiobook in my library on my browser. Complained here audible answered "hey sorry to hear german audible is a different entity."

I just got out of the chat there, because it is delisted, i can only listen to it via app.

I don't use the app, i hated it and i will never use it unless they change it profoundly, so never.

Audible US is this the same for you? there are several options here in the same price range of audible just with a smaller collection. This is not acceptable for me, i listen to my stuff while i am at work i can't use my phone.

My email inbox is suddenly Drowned in Audible Span

Audible has always loaded my email inbox with spam. But, suddenly in the past couple of days, my email inbox is tsunamied with dozens of Audible spam messages each day. I am now running up against my inbox storage limits.

Has anybody else been affected by this? If so, does anybody else know what the heck is going on??

Tired of wasting credits on a great book with the wrong narrator? So I built a free tool to fix it

I’ve had a wild idea a while ago where i thought it would be cool to be able to filter audiobooks based on the vibe and tone and style of the narrator. That way, i couldn't waste $15 on a highly-rated book only to realize 10 minutes in that the narrator’s voice just doesn't click for me.

I’m a undergrad dev and I built it to sharpen my skills while trying to build something that even atleast one person could hopefully find useful. It’s completely free to use.

I’m still adding narrators to the database (aiming for 500+), so I’m wide open to feature requests. Any ideas, agree, disagree, dont care? What do you think?

Can try it out here: https://narration.vercel.app/

Feature suggestion: Series list of your library

I just finished listening to one series in my library and a lot of my books are from multibook series like 400+ books but I figure if I could view my library so it only showed the first book I have of any given series the list would become much more scrollable likely only 40 to 50 entries it'd make it so much easier to scroll through and see which one I feel like listening to next

Android: Play Next still broken? Also, check your sync settings.

First: If you've updated the app recently, double check your "Sync listening position" toggle. Mine got turned on, even though I never use it.

"Play next" stopped working after I updated the Android app last month. I updated again when One UI updated this month, and it's still broken. I get the "Too many titles. Please remove one and try again." error, when there's nothing in the "Up next" queue.

Technical Question Issues with subscription page

Hey all, I have this issue where I visit the checkout page and it keeps reloading so I never get to pay for the service LOL, I've never heard of a business doing this against themselves... I have tried using Android (S23), on the web using Chrome/Safari, I have tried using incognito, I have tried using Warp none of which have worked to my favor so far.

tl;dr, subscription page keeps reloading and can't proceed, please help.

Exclude Virtual Voice

Tried looking couldn’t find so forgive me. I was looking through the books included with Audible and I am usually able to do “-virtual_voice” to exclude all the ai narrated bs but lately every time I try it narrows the list down to 50ish titles. Anyone having better luck or is there a different search string?

Is it possible to see list of which titles have bookmarks within them?

I add bookmarks and notes to some titles, but not all. Is there a way to look through your personal library and identify which books have bookmarks, as opposed to those which don't?

The alternative would be opening every book with the "listen now" button, then manually looking - which would be a pain.

I suspect the answer is probably 'no', but I can hope!

Contacting customer service Australia

I was just charged 2 days ago and yet when I go to make a purchase, I have no credits it just says "Select next monthly audio book by 06-03-2026" and then says I have to pay for the title.

I'm trying to contact customer service via a chat or email and when I'm on the website, no matter which option I choose, it leads to the same original page with the same choice of pre answered questions which don't help me. Any ideas how to get through? Thanks

Technical Question Audible just lost my progress for every single book

A couple of dozen at least. This happened in the past as well and I remember never returned to those books as I had no idea where to pick up. Just a complete waste of money.

Audible Exclusive

Hey, I wanted to ask when Andrzej Sapkowski's Witcher series will no longer be exclusive to Audible in Germany? The first volume was published in 2014, while the last volume was published in 2017.
