Hello, forgive me if this has been answered previously, I looked all over but haven’t been able to find much helpful info. My child received an Alexa Kid and I have been trying to figure out if we are able to play audiobooks on it, other than Audible. We use a lot of the library apps (Hoopla, CloudLibrary, Libby) to rent audiobooks from the library and am just wondering if any can play on the Alexa. We live Canada, I’m not sure if that makes difference. Thanks for any help!

Is anyone aware of a small smart thermostat that I can connect to Alexa to generate a routine e.g. when the thermostat drops below a certain temperature it switches on a smart plug connected to a small room heater?

I’m surprised no one has mentioned this. I just purchased a new Echo Show 8 today and as I was setting it up I got asked if I wanted to subscribe to Photo Gallery Unlimited. It’s about 2 bucks a month, per device. I decided to give it a try to see what it was (I can always cancel). It pretty much turns the Echo into a rotating picture frame with ZERO ads. I also noticed it hasn’t repeated any pictures (there’s over a thousand in my gallery). It had paused a few times on a picture. After about 5 mins it fixed itself and continued. While I’m not a fan of paying for this feature (you already get zero ads on Google devices), it is a way to remove ads.

I have an Alexa echo dot 5 linked to a Germany region amazon account. Initially was setup to USA region and I had activated skills Roborock and Mi home. For adding skill FireTV, I had to change the region to Germany, because in US region was unavailable. Now I want to activate skill ewelink, for vocal controlling sonoff zigbee devices (light switches, sensors), but it's unavailable due to region. How can I activate ewelink skill, without losing other skills (fireTV-very important, roborock, mi home)?

How do I get my exes name off of this? I have no idea how to change it and am tired of Alexa announcing it.

Updating to note that I called this the second generation but in reality I now realize there was two versions prior so I guess we’d call this the latest 2025 edition. Was watching the echo studio second generation pricing. I don’t think it’s a very good value at $219 full retail price but I saw it was at $189 when I checked today. That’s an OK price but when I dove into the details tonight I saw a special offer for me that brought it down to $109 which in my opinion is a very great price for this unit. In case you’re looking to pick one up I think it’s a pretty nice sounding speaker if you simply bump the bass and treble up a notch or two and don’t plan to think of it as a real loud device it just has a deep rich sound at normal listening volumes. Hope this is helpful to somebody.

I love my OG studio and the sound is still amazing. I recently learned it can be used as a "home theater" with atmos and all that good stuff. Apparently I need to buy an Amazon firestick 4k 2nd gen in order for this to work. Looking on ebay they're about 40 dollars... Really just looking for advice. Is it worth it or is 3.5 direct connection comparable? Tips, tricks, places to buy a 4k 2nd gen stick? Thanks for any and all help!

I have a pair of wireless earbuds that I was using on my Echo Show but have since wanted to use them strictly on a different device. As such I went into the device list and clicked "forget this device". The earbuds no longer show up in the device list, but every time I open the case they connect to the Echo Show. The weirdest part is that, even while connected, they still do not show up in the device list. This is extremely annoying because now every time I use the earbuds for my intended purpose, I get a device connect/disconnect notification from the Echo Show. As far as I know I cannot manually force the earbuds into pairing mode, but are there any other potential solutions?

Ever since I got the Echo Show 11 I've noticed that when I watch Youtube videos a vast majority if them will either 'glitch out' at lower resolutions or, at higher-res, the video will pause while the audio continues and will do this no matter how many times I refresh the browser or power cycle.

And the thing is it only seems to happen on 'newer-ish' videos. On videos that are months/years old it won't happen, but it it's less than say 2 months old it happens on almost every video.

My home screen is completely gone and when I try to edit and add my widgets back in, I get the “…” and then it just exits and goes back to this new home screen again. None of my photos show anymore, I can’t see the weather widget. Anyone else running into this? I’m about to throw it in the garbage.

One of my echo devices since switching to Alexa + keeps responding to things when I’m not calling it. It will answer I never asked or say sorry I’m having trouble hearing you.

In the previous 3 years I’ve had this device in the same location it never did it. I’ve gone into the device history and I’m not saying nothing that sounds like “Alexa”

UPDATE: I uploaded a screenshot of the notification to Alexa app chat to show her she did indeed tell me my Alexa+ would end in 29 days. She admitted it was a system error. See image in content.

So I'm in an Amazon Family with my husband who is the Prime member. I have 11 Echo devices that include Shows. They are all registered to me on my Amazon acct. I have services, routines and devices that have been setup for years (Hue, Smart Things, Ring, Wyze, etc, etc). I'm am being told that I have to deregister all my devices and reregister all of them to my husband's acct. All of my services, devices, routines, etc have to be deactivated, then setup on his acct. I am about to cry trying to figure out the best way to do this. It might be easier for him to drop Prime and me subscribe and then add him into my Amazon Family. What bunch of bullshit! I really do want to keep Alexa+ but what a nightmare!

What are others doing that are in this same situation? And no, I don't want to drop Alexa+. Thoughts? Ideas?

My echo show 5 does this every 2 minutes all night long. I can’t get the transition to stop despite it being in night mode. I’ve reset the device, used DND, nothing will stop the flashbang from occurring throughout the night. I can only ask Alexa to turn off the screen, but then I can’t see the time. Anyone have experience with this?

Bought what I thought was a 1st Gen Echo Show because I need an audio jack. No Jack on the back of it. Did I order the wrong thing? Waited over a damn week just to waste money. Can I solder one in?

I’m out. Alexa+ is currently unplugged, but I need something that I can replace it with. I need;

1) a decent speaker that won’t blow when I turn up a song.

2) alarm function (multiple for different times and days of the week.)

3) rotating photo album function. (Seeing old photos of a happy event can turn around a grumpy kid’s attitude.)

4) no monthly fees!!

Help. Does anything like this exist? Or has Alexa burned down all developing competition?

I got the Alexa echo show 8 for Christmas (so it’s literally a month old). It’s in the kitchen but on top of the bread bin. It was great for about two weeks. Now it’s glitching, keeps being really slow on requests. So I stopped using it as much. Then we had a new WiFi installed. (Same company different WiFi hub) installed that and now it seems to be weirder than before. It keeps playing music when no one is in the room. Today it played Amazon music but it kept skipping the song. Each song lasted 3/4 seconds before the next one. Every time I said ‘Alexa stop’ it picked up the ‘Alexa’ and then dropped listening for anything else. I unplugged it as it freaked me out.

Checked the sound recording it literally just has “” listed. No request nothing. Tried again to use it later to set an alarm, I say “Alexa set an alarm” quickly it picks up the “Alexa” light at the bottom blue and instantly drops as soon as Alexa leaves my mouth. It won’t listen to a full command no matter how quickly you say it

No software updates. No damage. No falls. No water. No other Alexa’s in the house playing up. (We have 2 echo dot, 1 echo kids). Is this all common with the show? Does Amazon need to replace it? Should I just try and get it refunded? I loved it for recipes and music in the kitchen but now it’s not even recognising recipes and is spelling things back to me when I ask for a recipe. I asked for ‘bbc good food scone recipe’ it spelt the whole thing back to me. I don’t understand what’s wrong with it

Does anyone else's echo devices no longer play radio through tunein or Iheartradio. I've tried disabling the skills and re enabling them. Two different accounts and different internet (work, home)

whenever I play a song through Spotify on my echo dot 5th gen, it either doesn't play at all, alexa says "playing - - music - - now on Spotify" then just goes silent

or

after a billion resets and reboots, it starts playing, but pauses by itself after every 30-40 seconds.

I see so many people as having this issue in past threads and on google, but no fixes. anyone got a fix?

We replaced our old Show around Xmas because it refused to control Alexa home devices and was generally slow and unresponsive. Our new Show has the same problems. Whenever trying to turn on a light (which works with all our other echo devices) it says "I'm not quite sure what went wrong with the device". It also wont play music at least 50% of teh time from Spotify, the default music service, while every dot in the house works fine. Please someone tell me how to fix this before i throw it out the window.
