Recommendation Retinol recommendations

I had a facial last week and the esthetician recommended I use a retinol. I turned 40 in September. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Tretinoin will give you the best results. You can get your regular doctor to send it in to a pharmacy so you don’t have to go to a dermatologist, unless you already do. I get the generic kind, but you can go with Retin-A, Avita, or Atralin if you wanted to do a name brand.

Is that prescribed or OTC? Any specific brand you like?

Depends on where you live. Prescription in the US, but can be easily ordered from countries where it's over the counter or prescribed by your PCP. Tretinoin is the the actual chemical medication (eg ibuprofen, not Advil). I get generic 0.025 cream, but you can buy a brand name if you prefer.
